After the installation of Cyclop OS Education, Pro or Gaming, the
applications of the edition are downloaded from its licence-gated repository
at the first start, in the background. This package makes that visible.
/usr/libexec/cyclop-edition-install does the installation as root (called by
the first-boot unit the installer writes, and by Cyclop Settings after a late
activation) and reports its real progress, read from apt's status pipe, in
/run/cyclop-edition-install/status.json.
cyclop-edition-progress is a small window, opened at login and in sessions
already running, that shows the edition, the package being installed and a
percentage, then says when it is done, or what went wrong. It asks for
nothing and closing it does not stop the installation.
It belongs to the free base (Community) because it has to be on the machine
before the paid edition arrives.
Install
sudo apt install cyclop-edition-progress
Available to everyone from the Cyclop OS Community repository.
